Exhibition Curation

2017: Home from Home – International Ceramics in Britain

Contemporary Applied Arts, London

This project aimed to highlight the contributions of ceramic practitioners who were born and bred away from these shores, and are now living and working in the UK. It explored issues of identity and cross cultural influences and the extent to which these are evident in each maker’s work. The project received Arts Council England funding, and included an exhibition of ceramic works by 25 ceramic practitioners, a publication, a film and an education programme.

1996: Dining Rites

Primavera, Cambridge

This exhibition was curated by Kochevet Bendavid and Ronald Pile, at the time the proprietor of Primavera – Cambridge. Its aim was to promote handmade British tableware, to rekindle the debate about the relevance of handmade tableware, to draw attention to the contribution these objects can make to our daily life and thus re-establish the importance of this craft. A small publication was produced, with articles which focused on these issues.
